Art UK is the online home for every public art collection in the UK. They are a charity, and their website represents a collaboration between over 3,300 British institutions.
Their aim is to make art available for everyone – for enjoyment, learning and research. Part of accomplishing these aims is telling the stories behind the art.
Art UK is looking for writers of colour to add to these stories.
Their website covers a wide range of subjects, including artist features, underrepresented narratives in art history, interviews with contemporary artists working today, and stories of when art intersects with science, history, fashion or pop culture. For more on what they’re looking for, check out their pitch guidelines.
They’ll be on our Twitter account on 14th July to tell you more about what a successful pitch might look like, what they are (and aren’t) looking for, what topics they’d like to read more about, and anything else you want to find out regarding their pitching and publishing process!
If you have a question you’d like them to address, send it to email@example.com by Friday 9th July, with ‘Art UK Twitter takeover’ in the subject line. You can also tweet at them during the takeover to have your question answered in real time!
Don’t miss this opportunity to find out more about getting published by one of the UK’s premier outlets for arts writing.
We’ll see you on the timeline!
